The 2009 Research team, led by guest Anthropologist/Primatologist, Jocelyn Murgatroyd, had a number of objectives:
- To assess local perceptions of primates, specifically in relation to the organisations the GPH is working with.
- To assess which digital media platforms are available in the sanctuaries and local communities; looking at what has and has not been successful.
- To evaluate community attitudes and expectations (of the sanctuaries) in a way that is of use to the GPH’s future aims and of educational value to fellow volunteers and readers.
Research also took place to investigate the motivations and attitudes of GPH volunteers.
