A snout peers out from behind a sty. CSWCT’s local initiatives in and around Hoima, Uganda, provide villagers close to forest borders with piglets in a bid to reduce crop raiding by hungry forest primates.

Kyanyawara Child
On an afternoon excursion to various villages on the border of Kibale Rainforest, a group of local women performed some traditional songs for us. While I was photographing the women, I turned and saw this little boy right behind me. Curious but a little bit shy, he hid behind his hands.
Child of Myende
Our team spent the day on Myende Island in Lake Victoria for the Environmental Drama Competitions. In the late afternoon, as the schools and our team boarded our boats back to our respective homes, the Myende villagers ventured down to the shore to see us off.
