The Great Primate Handshake continues to support sanctuaries visited on our pioneering expedition in the summer of 2008. One of which to recently benefit is Baboon Matters.
Baboon Matters is a small concern making a big impact in the primate world. Based just outside Simons Town, Cape Town – the strong and dedicated team are working tirelessly to protect the Baboon that is becoming more at risk with every passing day.

Sadly, the crucial work that is necessary to support this primate is suffering due to the lack of funds and importance placed upon the primates’ role in our ecosystem. The Great Primate Handshake took the work of Baboon Matters into our hearts and we have been trying to help in every way we can, from directly producing video footage and raising global awareness via our website we also held a large fundraiser at Start The Bus, Bristol.
The day and night was a success. Live music and fantastic DJs, all helping to spread the word of Primate conservation and raising much-needed funds for Baboon Matters.
Thanks goes out to one of the Handshake volunteers Simon Ashdown, Project Coordinator Gaynor Tribe and all of the people who showed up to learn more about the good work that is being done for a precious species.
