The Great Primate Handshake – Volunteer in Africa, working to conserve monkeys and apes through film and educational content production

Thanks to our friend Sara at Jeanie’s Magnificent Makes, today we bring you a fun primate-themed craft project – making monkey masks!

You will need:
1 paper plate
String
Scissors (use safety scissors if making these with children
Paint or crayons

Step 1
Cut two holes out of your paper plate – these will be the eyes

Step 2
Cut out two semi circles from your cereal box/card

Step 3
Stick the semi circles to the side of your mask – these are the monkey’s ears!

Step 4
Cut away the bottom of the plate, like this

Step 5
Attach a piece of string or ribbon to the paper plate so that you can wear your mask

Now it’s time to paint your monkey!
