After the success of our expeditions to Kenya and Uganda this summer, we have now started recruiting volunteers for the 2013 Great Primate Handshakes.

The Great Primate Handshake raises awareness for conservation organisations by creating digital media during expeditions within African countries, and we are looking for passionate people that want to make a lasting difference.

Starting in Uganda on 12th July 2013, the Handshake’s ninth trip will be spent working with a wide range of organisations, from those that care for chimpanzees to nationwide wildlife and forest protection groups, and we will pass through many unique primate habitats as we travel to collect the footage needed to create fantastic content in support of the organisations we visit.

The Kenya expedition will begin on the 16th of August, and will see the Handshake volunteers connect with community projects, reforestation initiatives and primate sanctuaries, all in habitats that support primates such as the black and white colobus monkey, blue monkey, Sykes’ monkey and many more fascinating species.

If you are interested in joining an expedition and sharing your skills within a unique environment to support conservation initiatives, you can find our 2013 application form here.

If you would like further information about the trips, please contact info@primatehandshake.org, or see our Expeditions or Dates and Costs pages.

We look forward to seeing you in the field, or interacting with you online as you follow our progress.
