The Great Primate Handshake aims to teach volunteers the skills necessary to continue supporting primate sanctuaries and organisations in to the future. During an expedition you will personally support sanctuaries by helping to provide the following services:
- Video production services
- Webpage design, branding and interactive content creation
- Instructive guides to design & software use
- Digital educational materials
- Merchandise design and distribution
- Campaign development and fundraising tools
Volunteers will get the opportunity to train in one of the 3 main areas:
- Digital video production
- Website design and interactive media
- Print & publication
By the end of the trip every volunteer should be able to do the following:
- Gather sound and vision using a single camera or capture device
- Edit materials so gathered for use on multiple platforms
- Apply practical experience to improve your academic understanding of film and video
- Understand and apply your knowledge of website design in a working environment
- Understand the principles and processes involved in digital media production
